The Pioneer Club at 12–14 Cavendish Place is entering a new phase, with The Work Project set to bring its design-led, hospitality-driven workspace to this distinctive West End address.
Part of CapitaLand, The Work Project is Asia’s leading luxury workspace operator and will open its second London location, and first in the West End, following its recent launch at One Leadenhall. The business operates 14 premium flexible workspace sites across Singapore and Australia.
Located on the north corner of Cavendish Square, the building comprises two Grade II* listed Georgian townhouses with a rich history. Number 14 was once home to architect George Edmund Street, designer of the Royal Courts of Justice, while Number 12 housed the original Pioneer Club, a progressive women’s members’ club active from 1921 to 1939.
The approved scheme will sensitively bring the buildings together through a new rear atrium and connecting bridges, alongside the addition of a fourth floor and rooftop terraces. Works are scheduled to start in late 2026 and completion is targeted for Summer of 2028.
This next chapter will see The Pioneer Club reimagined as a workspace defined by character, quality and a strong sense of place, designed for a global community of professionals and business leaders.
