MY Construction appointed as main contractor to deliver 469 Bethnal Green Road

Unity Real estate has announced the appointment of MY Construction to deliver the redevelopment of 469 Bethnal Green Road. Following a successful tender, MY was chosen because of its experience in building high quality and complex developments. The main contract was signed today, a major achievement for the project in today’s challenging market. Construction is due to commence on the site in January 2023.

The unique feature of 469 Bethnal Green Road is its combination of modern, cutting-edge architecture which incorporates a unique galvanised steel facade on the upper three floors which are a new construction, combined with the more traditional brick facade of the existing three storey warehouse structure which will be retained.

The 469 Bethnal Green Road development, designed by architects Carmody Groarke, is expected to be completed in Q2 2024.  Carmody Groarke’s previous relevant works include the Anthony Gormley Studio and the Hill House Box.

Once completed, 469 Bethnal Green Road will house 16,000 sqft of high quality and low carbon office space on the upper floors together with 3,000 sqft high quality retail and cafe space on the ground floor.
