Consultation launched for Margaret Street redevelopment

Consultation has begun to help shape the redevelopment of 82-83 Margaret Street. The main seven storey building was originally built to serve as a Convent in 1914. Adjoining the main building to the rear are two wings connecting it to the Grade II listed All Saints Convent Chapel.

Unity Real Estate is inviting residents to offer views on the vision to redevelop the site into a major mixed-use scheme which will include residential accommodation, coworking space, wellness facilities and community spaces.

A webinar and physical exhibition will be hosted through November to encourage residents and local stakeholders to share their views. Hard copies of all consultation materials are available on request and a dedicated website has been launched. The consultation will be open for an extended period until 10th January 2023.

Quinton Clarke, Development Director for the project, said: “We are committed to working in partnership with the local community and Westminster Council to develop a modern residential scheme which reflects their input and ambitions”.

The target date to submit a planning application to Westminster City Council is Q2 2023. A decision is anticipated before the end of 2023.

Unity Real Estate acquired the buildings in September 2022 and will develop the buildings in conjunction with its appointed architect, Michaelis Boyd.
